Greenland's demonstrations run approximately 45 minutes and are full of valuable, practical information. Registration fee is $5.00.  Bring a friend and a notepad, but register early - seminars fill quickly!

Waterplants add beauty to your pond while providing a food source for fish, shading the water surface and keeping your water crystal clear.  This demonstration will cover marginals, floaters and oxygenators, and how to care for them from spring to fall.

C201 - Starting Seeds Indoors

Growing your own bedding plants from seed is so rewarding and will save you money.  We'll discuss seeding dates, methods, transplanting and planting out, so even novices will have success.

C202 - Beginner Garden Spirits

Learn to create an amazing garden sculpture out of a simple T-shirt. This full day workshop will teach you how to form, wrap and coat your sculpture - novices will look like pros. Participants must bring 2 large 100% cotton solid coloured T-shirts, 1 roll of light duty aluminum foil (min 15'), scissors and lunch. Limited space - no refunds if unable to attend.

C203 - Advanced Garden Spirits

In this full day workshop participants will learn to create an impressive 2 foot garden sculpture.  Note that Beginner Garden Spirits is a pre-requisite.  Participants must bring lunch, 3 large 100% cotton T-shirts.  T-shirts should be a solid colour, however, one of the shirts may have a pattern (to be used on the outside of your sculpture). You will also need masking tape, scissors and standard aluminum foil (min. 100').  Limited space - no refunds if unable to attend. **As each design will differ, additional sculpting medium may be required; medium will be available for sale from instructor.

C204 - Getting Ready for Spring

An informative session on basic pruning, early season lawn care, preventing pests, soil preparation, etc.  A great way to start off your Spring gardening.

C205 - Crystal Clear Watergardens

Murky water can be easily avoided by learning the intricate balance of pond water. This course teaches the importance of pH, algae control, plant maintenance and more to ensure healthy, clear pond water.

C206 - Pruning

Learn the benefits of pruning trees, shrubs and evergreens, and the "hows" and "whens" of proper pruning techniques.  Manual included.  Pruners required.  A practical session will follow outdoors, dress accordingly.

Plants from the garden centre are grown in plastic, fabric and even burlap and wire pots. We’ll explain which pots need to be removed, proper soil preparation, depth of planting and watering and caring for various new plants.

Tree School   Get back to basics with our garden centre experts as they offer practical and informative advice on choosing plants for your landscape.  Class is held in our outdoor garden centre; bring a notepad and enjoy our undivided attention.
