Greenland is excited to present our Winter and Spring 2012 classes and demonstrations.

You’re invited to register Sunday, January 29th during our Eager Gardener’s Open House or call us at 780-467-7557.

Greenland's demonstrations run approximately 45 minutes and are full of  valuable, practical information. Registration fee is $5.00.  Bring a friend and a notepad, but register early - seminars fill quickly!  Adults (16 yrs + up) only please. Sorry, no refunds unless demo is cancelled.

 
   
 

 
 

C101 - An Indoor Orchard

Though not winter hardy in Alberta, citrus are a great candidate for growing indoors.  This demonstration will showcase the best types of citrus for growing indoors and also touch on starting your own plants from seed.

Learn the benefits of pruning trees, shrubs and evergreens, and the "hows" and "whens" of proper pruning techniques.  Manual included, pruners required.  A practical session will follow outdoors.

Container gardens can generate a bounty of produce for salads, bruschetta, salsa and more. This class will teach you how easy it is to grow herbs and vegetables in containers. We’ll cover choosing soil, which plants to combine, watering, fertilizing and more.

C206 - Vegetable Gardening for Beginners

Perfect for the beginner, this hands on class will share the benefits of growing your own vegetables including saving money, convenience and flavour.  Class will be held outdoors to demonstrate the planting of an actual garden. We’ll share tips on soil prep, choosing varieties, seeds vs. plants and more.
