Canada’s 150th in the Garden

On Sunday July 9th from 11 am – 3 pm come celebrate Canada’s 150th in the Garden!

  • Enjoy a pancake brunch, being served 11am until 1 pm.
  • Family activities include historic displays, garden tours, and making flower arrangements to take home.
  • Discover the delights of dahlias with the County Horticulturist- how to grow them, how to show them, and tips for storing them over winter.
  • Find out about a project to document family quilts.
  • Liz Deleeuw with the Edmonton Native Plant Group will be at the Pegg Garden with more than 10 different types of hardy native plants for sale, all are well suited for home landscapes.

Admission to this event is by donation. The George Pegg Botanic Garden is now open for visitors every day in July and August from 10 am – 5 pm.  This tranquil site is Alberta’s first historic Garden, located 50 minutes west of Edmonton. For directions visit www.PeggGarden.org or call 780-203-0331.
