Why Grow Here?

What role has gardening played in the evolution of Edmonton as it has grown from a nineteenth century fur-trading post to a twenty-first century urban agglomeration, and what role has it played in the lives of immigrants as they work to make Canada their home? What role has the Edmonton Horticultural Society played in the city’s gardening history?
This new novel by local author Kathryn Merrett offers an amazing look into Edmonton’s rich and diverse horticultural history.
